Stat140 is still a hard class and for preperation, i would suggest reading the first few chapters of the textbook, getting a grasp of the concepts and working through 140 is definitely more work (hw, labs), but on the plus side, the textbook is more well-written and you get the all-star lecturer Adhikari.
